What is Love?
February 3, 2006
How is everybody? (Good; good morning!) Good morning. When you think about love, what is love? You will die for love or you will kill for love. It can happen, right? When you really love something, it makes you want to die for it; at the same time in the extreme opposite, you will kill for it. That's what love is. Right? And everything that exists under the sun pretty much has both extremes stemming from it. Why is it like that? Is it for you, or is it for me? It's that stuff: it's that struggle; it's that basic struggle. I'll die for something, or I'll kill for something. It's that stuff. It's the "we" or "I" struggle, because when I'm dying for something, it's not "me" it's love." It's as simple as that; everything starts from that. And that, you need to know how to answer. That's your quest in this short life. However long you think that you can live, it's short! It's not long enough for me! I know I'm dying, getting closer to my death than to my living, and that's for sure. And that is the truth that I can never deny.
And that's how it begins. Know what you want to do with your life. Is it going to be “we" or is it going to be "I"? You make the choice, and understand that life is what you got, and what you got isn't that much. And that's where we're equal. So, it doesn't matter what you got; it really doesn't matter.
Okay, you have to do your own thinking. Look, I'm not going to read a story book for you. Okay? You make your own stories—that's your life. You write your own songs. You write your own stories. That's all we do. That's the best we can do. And hopefully somebody can be inspired by it. Okay? All I can do is what I do. That's it. It's up to you what you do.
So you take care. Okay?
I may be gone for a few weeks so I'll see you later when I come back. Okay?
